REDMI NOTE 9 SERIES TEARDOWN REVEALS DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE 4G AND 5G MODELS

REDMI NOTE 9 SERIES TEARDOWN REVEALS DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE 4G AND 5G MODELS

Yesterday marked the arrival of the Redmi Note 9 series in China and now local repair and teardown experts Aio Technology took apart all three models to show us what's on the inside.

Taking off the backs reveals that the Redmi Note 9 4G and Note 9 5G come with plastic plates while the Note 9 Pro 5G uses of glass.

Taking a look underneath we find the 4G model has its heat dissipation film on its back cover while the 5G models have theirs above the batteries.

We can also observe the fingerprint cable connectors going to the motherboard and the integrated antennas.

The 5G models have a higher antenna count which was to be expected.

We then get to the cameras, with the Redmi Note 9 4G packing three separate rear sensors while the 5G versions have their modules held together on camera islands.

The chipset and storage sit on top of the motherboard covered underneath copper foil.

Removing the foil gives us a clear shot of all three chipsets with the Qualcomms sitting in the right corners of the motherboard while the Mediatek is on the top right side.

Next up are the batteries with the 4G model having the largest cell at 6,000mAh while the Note 9 5G's comes in at 5,000mAh and the Note 9 Pro 5G has a 4,820mAh cell.
